A closer look at the digits

702 repeating digits numbers.

A repeated ending gives a hotel contact a visible anchor on a room card or booking confirmation. The illustrative form 702-XXX-7777 shows the idea, not an available listing. For a Strip resort, assess whether the actual repeat remains clear when the number is read with a department name, extension instructions, and guest information.

How the pattern works

Repeated digits can make a number easier to read from a sign or dictate over the phone. Look at where the run appears in the full number.

Concierge contact cards

Mock up a small concierge card with the complete candidate number. Keep repeated digits together and leave enough space to count them. A guest should not have to enlarge a photograph to distinguish three sevens from four.

Guest transportation

A transfer operator may put its booking contact on a vehicle and its pickup contact in a message. A repeat can make either easier to spot, but the two purposes still need clear labels and current instructions.

Compare before choosing

Compare the full numbers, including exchanges that precede the run. Test one reading digit by digit and another using ordinary spoken grouping. A conspicuous ending does not compensate for a confusing transition into that ending.
